When a donor fills out a DIY Form they are automatically emailed a receipt/confirmation of their gift however we are currently unable to confirm if it was a "one-off" or "monthly" donation in this receipt as the "frequency" field does not pull though. There isn't really any point in giving a donor an inaccurate receipt as it just leads to confusion so the auto confirmation emails are pretty useless for donation forms at the moment. The donor submits the gift "frequency" on the DIY donation form along with the rest of their details so it really shouldn't be difficult to include.
I agree with this request as stated. It is important to be able to include the installment frequency and installment amount when acknowledging an online recurring gift, or it would be better to turn off the automatic "Send the donor a confirmation email?" setting in the DIY form because we'd be sending an inaccurate (incomplete) acknowledgment. Our trigger to send a manually-generated acknowledgment would be the email confirmation we receive each time an online recurring gift is started, but for MANY organizations, that would be unacceptable to keep up with that time-consuming task.
Besides, it is odd that our organization receives an email confirmation for a newly created online recurring donation which includes the installment frequency and installment amount, but that we can't set that same thing up for the donor himself in an automatic process.
Please fix!
