There are multiple ideas on this forum that address the specific issues with look and feel and useability for DIY forms.
These ideas range from requesting google maps instead of mapquest, clarifying debit vs credit card option, making mobile friendly boxes and templates (no more radio buttons please.), as well as inability to create logic with the fields in forms. (ie: >would you like to give monthly?AN=YES> how much? vs current state of forms. Using current user defined fields function this should be possible!)
Trust is also a big pain point, people are more and more likely to distrust payment portals that look outdated or are from an uncommon name.
feedback from our constituents is plainly this: People do not trust your logo or appearance. They fear submitting their credit card information through a DIY form using blackbaud.
In short what does all this lead to?
>failure to gain trust from users of forms (AKA potential Donors!) = Opportunity loss for $$$
>more abandoned pledges (due to incomplete form filling)
>Administrative time lost= greater operational expenses $$$
The state of DIY forms in e-tapestry needs to be reconsidered heavily,
No one wants a user interface from circa 2002. Especially our donors on their mobile devices or your e-tapestry subscribers/users.
I just ran a virtual event, where my data shows that I had a great click through rate, but low conversion rate - on mobile devices! The clunky DIY form did not match the high level of professionalism and inspirational quality of our event. This needs to be fixed, or you will start to lose Blackbaud eTapestry subscribers. If we're losing money, so should Blackbaud. And no, upselling to another Blackbaud product is not the answer - I don't need a salesman, I need a user interface technician to solve this problem. It is 2020.
