eTapestry takes 2.5% + $.26 of each donation as well as $.26. DIY donation page should have option to let donor pay that transaction fee so that nonprofit receives the full donation amount.
Checking in to see if anyone has found a work-around or hack for this. Unless I'm missing something, this is still not an option that Blackbaud eTap users. This has been an on-going discussion in my department, with donors, and with the board.
This is very frustrating for us! It is a feature with Everyday Hero, which is also a Balckbaud product, so it is completely doable. It is also pretty standard with other organizations processing systems!
What does Blackbaud need to reconsider this idea for eTapestry? It is attractive for clients and donors. It will also make more $ for Blackbaud when donors increase their transaction amount!
This feature is extremely important and should be added immediately!!! If eTap has the capability of doing this with a simple formula on Custom built forms, there is no reason it shouldn't be available on DIY forms!
The fee would change with each gift amount. Therefore, to place text on the page asking for a percentage wouldn't provide the user-friendly, easy option that other merchant portals give, such as Network for Good.
i understand the concept and the reasoning behind the suggestion. At this time I do not have plans to implement this into the system. That being said, there is nothing stopping you from putting some text on the page asking the donor to increase the amount to cover those fees.
I just want to comment that this would be helpful not just from the nonprofit perspective, but from the donor perspective. Many donors want to feel like they are giving a full donation to the organization, and will thus opt not to give online when this option is not available. Thus, donors have to write and send a check, which is far less convenient.
I know that Etap is getting some sort of update in February 2022. Will this be a feature on that update?
Is this still not an option for Etapestry?

Dear BB, I REALLY think you need to reconsider this and make the change to catch up with your competitors.
This needs to be done in 2019. Our board is really looking to this in some way. Please?
On our third year for this issue. it would be MUCH better to have this option added.
Have any considerations been made to adding the feature which allows donors to cover the fees?
Please reconsider, Mike.
Donors are not going to sit and figure out an additional percentage to add to their donation.
We are in a world of immediate satisfaction. People need to click, not stop what they are doing and break out a calculator.
