I like to work ahead but when scheduled emails only go to people who were listed in the query at the time the email was scheduled, the ability to do scheduled emails is useless.
We have a scheduled event for 5/21/16 and a DIY form that participants complete to register for the event. I also created a query that finds all registered participants. I created multiple reminder emails for registered participants and scheduled them for dates leading up to the event. However, registration is open until tomorrow. Unfortunately, if a new person registers after I scheduled the email, they won't receive the email because they weren't in the query when I did the scheduling.
Currently, the answer is to log in as close to the send date as possible to send to the most up to date query of participants. But, doesn't this defeat the purpose of scheduling an email??
My opinion is that scheduled events should work as if I was running the advanced mass email at the scheduled time. That way, if I want to tweak the query or even the content of the email, it wouldn't matter until the event is triggered.
