I have found the Approach Analysis Report to be a very useful report; however, I have discovered two things:  it is not possible to do the report monthly for a month like May if you are not doing the report on the very last day of the May. Sometimes, the end of the month is not a work day or I may not get to it until the following week. Secondly, although I am running the report for the last year or last month, the Pledge Balance column still shows the amount for the approach as of the day I am running the report. If I am running a report for a particular month, I want the amounts to reflect totals as of that day.
