The system defined field Contact Method displays values in the order that they are saved in most drop-down menus in the system. However, when creating a thank you letter for a gift, once you have chosen to create a journal entry, the drop down list for Contact Method is always in alphabetical order. This is confusing for users and clearly an inconsistency in the system.
I agree this seems redundant, but I would add (and truly appreciate!) the ability to have a "default" method, since 90% of our correspondence is letters. I would LOVE to be able to have it default to a certain method (such as Letters) and then allow me to change it every once in a while when it's different. It seems like this would be the situation for the majority of users. This would save me so much time!
