had different confirmation email messages, which could be selected for each cart product.
Our cart handles donations as well as registration for various events. Obviously, the confirmation email should not and cannot be generic. Please make it possible to use multiple confirmation messages in the cart.
Since the built-in eCart confirmations are so generic, I can tell you how my organization gets around this, though it does take some setup. Our website is on WordPress, where our donation page runs on Gravity Forms. That form sends confirmation emails, not eTap, and they are highly customizable. We use a WordPress plugin to feed the form info to eTap where the transaction is processed by BBMS.
Hope that helps!
Mike - please do this! We look like fools when we're replying with extremely generic emails just so we don't look like we don't know what we're doing (replying "thanks for your donation" when they register for an event, to volunteer, or buy a branded sweatshirt!!
We use this at our school to allow parents to pay various school fees and/or make donations. It is definitely not appropriate to have the same confirmation. This is a BIG issue for us, and the email notifications should be different for each cart item. The eCart could be so much more functional with these tweaks.
My organization would like to see the same update to the cart module. It is difficult to create a generic email confirmation when we are offering a variety of services. Please make it possible to use multiple confirmation messages for the cart.
Mike Rusche, you are not thinking outside the box and providing a more diverse set of tools for a system that offers a cart that sells hundreds if not thousands of different items or event/donation related materials. Do the right thing and make the case for our donors, please.
We have no plans to update our Cart module at this time.
