Monthly donation option in Membership DIY Forms

In your membership DIY form there is NO option for a monthly donation or payment.  It seems pretty standard that membership fees can be paid monthly.  This would also be an easy way for non-profits to add a "sponsorship" page where people would be a "GOLD MEMBER" when they "sponsor a child" on a monthly basis, etc.

I have exactly the same problem. We were able to email a renewal notice with an online link to payment but since switching payment to eTap's merchant services we can no longer do this. It's causing a significant nightmare for us and I think it will end in us moving our membership programme to a different platform.

Also, Membership is not a priority for eTap users. Looking down through the posts Membership queries get fewer votes, so I am not convinced our frustration will be noted.

I just posted a similar idea, requesting the addition of recurring option to the membership form. Now I see that this idea was suggested more than a year ago. Our members had the option of auto renew when we used PayPal, and now that we are paying for eTapestry, auto renew is no longer an option. We've noticed a significant decrease in membership renewal rates since making the change over a year ago. Why hasn't anything been done to add this option to DIY forms? Since the donation form has a recurring option, it seems like it would be easy enough to do.

We just want the option of the user being able to choose to have their membership renew each year (not monthly). I understand this option would allow a monthly or annual option.

This is a great idea. I have the same suggestion. I had to put language on my DIY donation form asking donors to call me if they would like to do monthly payments. This extra step would not be necessary if they were able to do it themselves.
