Storing the last 4 digits of a credit card number is about the dumbest
thing one should do. Hackers love a name and address and the last 4 digits
    – you just gave them a highway into your personal credit cards, etc.

Cyndy - Typically we suggest two options.  1) You can just put an * in that field or 2) Most people like to put just the last four numbers of the card in there so that it can be used as a reference if needed.

If you are processing the card at the time of the transaction you do have to put the card number into that field, however it is not stored in eTapestry and when you go back to look, you will only see the last four numbers as a reference.

    Thanks!

Not all of us store credit cards as our donors do not like that. I would like the ability to remove the "required" on the credit card number so we do not have to put anything in there. For safety purposes and the mental health of our donors, we do not want the risk of storing their credit cards at all. I would like to see this required line removed.
