gave you the option to assign soft credit to more than one donor within a gift. For example, we just got a check from a local community foundation who held a special giving event in our town. Several of the people who have donor advised funds at the foundation chose to direct gifts to us through the event and several individuals at the event wrote checks for us as well. We got one lump check representing all their gifts. I can't give a tax-receipt to any of these donors but I would like to reflect their individual giving. If I enter the foundation's check as one gift, I can only assign soft credit to one donor despite the fact that the check represents gifts from multiple donors. I'm open to hearing a different way to do this, just thought I would make the suggestion since it occurred to me this would be a nice feature.

Agreed. Sometimes we have donors collect from a group of friends/family and make one lump sum donation. In this case, legally each donor should receive an individual receipt but doing so is next to impossible.
