20+ years ago when I worked in Raiser's Edge, there was a checkbox you could mark a constituent as deceased, and then they would automatically be excluded from certain things, like mailings. Why is it that in 2023, this functionality does not exist in eTapestry? I have to go look in the back tab in a UDF that we created in mail types to find it, and that seems so silly. It should be right there on the personas tab.
Deceased constituents can be excluded/removed from queries, but we have no plans to add Deceased as a checkbox that automatically filters.
To see this information more easily you can add the UDF to the Account Header so you won't have to navigate to the Defined Fields page. Here are the steps to add it to the header:
Navigate to an account
Click the Edit Header link in the Account Header
In the Select Columns To Display section, locate your Deceased UDF and mark the checkbox next to it.
This will add the field to one of your rows and you can move it to the desired location.
Then click Save And
