Allow different email templates for one-time and monthly gifts

It would be great if we could set an if/then for which email template is sent to our donors on the DIY donation forms. Eg. If someone selects "one-time" gift, they receive an email that says "Thank you for your gift of $[XX] on [this date]." but if they set up a monthly gift, they receive an email that says "Thank for setting up a recurring gift of $[XX]. Your donation will be charged monthly on the card you provided. You can change or cancel gift at any time by calling....."

This was implemented last year, please see our help documentation for more information: https://webfiles-sc1.blackbaud.com/files/support/helpfiles/etapestry/etapestry/content/nf744.html

I agree with what Tiasha Burch has commented - it would be extremely helpful to have an automated system for receipting recurring donations.

This would be extremely helpful. Considering that in Canada a registered tax receipt number must be generated, the current solution (the manual process) is time consuming and could easily be automated. We do not want to discourage donors by overcomplicating our website and having more than one donation page (which is another "solution" for this issue) even though this would save our team time behind the scenes. Ideally, when the online form is being filled out and the donor selects "one-time" or selects "monthly gift" this entry, which is documented in eTapestry, could trigger the corresponding templates.

The issue with having to do this manually is not that it simply requires pulling a query to send out mass communication too. With a generated tax receipt number issued on the first month of donating, the year end tax receipt will require that the total amount being receipted for = (year end total donated) - (first month donation amount).

To add to this issue, the initial receipt is not saved on the account as a pdf or journal entry so that we can easily resend the first receipt to them again if they have misplaced the first one, which is very possible and likely if 12 months have passed. Instead, we either have to be proactively saving every initial email from eTapestry as a back-up record or creating a new document for each persons first month. Sure, there is a process that could work, but with so many steps and so many gaps in the current set-up of eTapestry, there are multiple places for things to go wrong.
