automatically email a receipt to donors for recurring credit card / eft gifts

Either within etapestry, or by passing a donor's email through to Sage, etc. using the API, it would be really nice if automatic email receipts could be sent to donors with a recurring credit card or EFT donation each time their card/bank account is charged. Donors giving in this fashion like to be made aware of when their card is charged in real time. For that matter, automatic emails for any number of conditions within the database would be extremely helpful.

Please reconsider updating this. It seems like it would be simple to send a receipt every time they have a recurring charge. Donors are frustrated by the fact that they don't get a receipt every month when they sign up for a recurring contribution, and since I'm the only bookkeeper for our organization, I don't have time to go in and manually send one to everyone when I get the weekly list of online donors. This would be a huge plus for it to automatically be sent every time they're charged. Blackbaud seems to be one of the only platforms that doesn't do this.

    Same issue for us.

Has this been updated yet? What is the work around people are using to acknowledge monthly/annual gifts or memberships?

This is a basic expectation to alert someone when there is a withdrawal.

This is potentially a deal-breaker for us. We have happily used eTap for over a decase but are considering a change because we really need a way for donor to be acknowledged when giving monthly. We don't have time to maually track this.

Please reconsider this! To allow constituents to sign up for recurring donations but to give them a receipt for the first donation only is illogical. According to the eTapestry help desk, the only way around this is for an Admin to manually run a query and send emails acknowledging recurring payments. To make matters worse, it's not certain whether a query for recurring payments beyond the initial payment is possible. The reason this is important is that a receipt is automatically processed for the initial payment, so we want to avoid sending a second receipt for the initial payment in addition to subsequent recurring payments. Please reconsider this!

Please reconsider this capability. Monthly giving is the biggest area of growth in fundraising and this is standard practice with other nonprofits I donate to.

This would be very helpful for us too.  It's an area that I worry about because we are getting more and more smaller donors who give this way.  I don't want them to feel unappreciated but I am only one person + part time student.  Thanks.

This would be a great feature. we have almost 30 recurring transactions. And we only have volunteers to do work for us and we are struggling with generating letters for each donor. It would be great to have auto email settings to send successful email or unsuccessful email and in parallel informs the organisation.

Mike, please reconsider this capability.  It would literally save us hours of time generating receipts, if the recurring schedule gifts could have each month's receipt automatically emailed to the donor at the time the transaction is processed each month.

I believe you are talking about having a thank you/receipt automatically emailed once a transaction has been processed on a recurring basis.  We just updated the ability to have that type of item sent upon a one off online transaction.  I do not believe we will go further with this capability at this time.
