We send all of our eBlasts through an external email program and regularly run queries to pull email addresses from eTap. Since eTap currently allows multiple email addresses to be stored in the Email field, they are exported into Excel that way as well.
Since most of our accounts are set up as family accounts with a husband and wife, the vast majority of our accounts have multiple email addresses entered in the email field. It then takes us way too long to manually parse these multiple email addresses into separate cells before we can then import them into our email software.
In the short term, could you please add a delimiter in between each email address stored in the Email field so that we could at least use the parsing tool or other formulas in Excel to automatically split the email addresses for us? Otherwise, this is a very cumbersome and manual process.
In the long term, redesign the Email field structure within eTap. Create separate email fields for Email Address 1, Email Address 2, etc. to properly store only one email address per field.
While I know that you provide eTap to Constant Contact integration, that process doesn't work very well either due to the many-to-one relationship between email addresses stored in eTap vs. one email field. For example, the resulting sync of opt-outs coming back into eTap isn't reliable, as eTap will flag an entire persona as having opted out when only one of the associated email addresses has in fact opted out.
This is a time consuming issue for us too. This needs to be fixed.
Huge issue for us as well.
We have to do the same!
We have the same problem. I have to manually separate the multiple email listings before I can send our email contact listings to our distribution company.
