Change the Phone contact field in DIY forms so it is not required

I'm worried that requiring people to submit a phone number may put them off making a donation. It's not required to process the payment, and you already have an email and postal address should you need to contact the donor. With new GDPR legislation and increased awareness about data protection, I feel the current policy of requiring phone numbers goes against best practice of only collecting the info you require to fulfill the data subjects request (in this case, donating).

Yes I am also worried by this. All the evidence out there at fundraising conferences suggests this is a massive deterrent to potential donors - you only have to look at other solutions out there to see that it isn't an essential field elsewhere. Please change this blackbaud so we can make it non compulsory.

Totally agree, please can you change this to not be a compulsory field? or give us the option of choosing to make it compulsory or not

Also if they already have a record, even if the phone is blank on the account, the required phone number from the form will not be added to the account. So it is actually purposeless.
