It is unfortunate the only ways to update credit/debit card information is to stop the recurring gift and have the donor re-do it or for the donor to provide their credit card information to staff. The latter seems like a PCI compliance issue. I do not ever want access to donors' credit card information.
There should be a way for the donor to be automatically notified via email when a card is about to expire and provided a link to update the card information themselves. This doesn't seem like an extremely complex solution. Perhaps Blackbaud can use some of the new enablement fee to implement this new feature.
I think this is a critical item. In addition, donors should be able to log on as a "member / donor" and be able to manage their recurring donation, whether that's to pause it, stop it, decrease it, or increase it. Without this feature it makes nonprofits appear to be scheming their donors because of how difficult "we" make it for the donor to update their donation. Blackbaud needs to address this.
I totally agree. We have a number of drop offs once the card expires who despite chasing just don't get in touch
