Here is the case:
A donor account has no address (wasn't available at the time the account was created) and the donor subsequently makes an on-line donation using a DIY form that required an address to be submitted,
In the above case, if the account name and e-mail submitted with the DIY form match the existing Persona, eTap considers it a match and adds the JE to the Persona's journal. It also creates a "eCommerce Duplicate Info" JE that indicates that the address submitted did not match the missing address in the Persona.
But eTap DOES NOT merge the submitted address into the Persona record. It is left to the user to do this manually. A pain.
Since, eTap has determined that the submitted account matches the existing one, why not add the address to the Persona's record? It would be so helpful!
BTW, what is even more interesting is that eTap WILL DO this for the e-mail address and merge the submitted e-mail into the Persona. Please do that for the address too.
Thanks.
I agree that it is very confusing when records are automatically updated by the donor and when they are not - or just some parts of the record are updated.
